SALKOM Law Firm was founded in 1990. The first Constituent Assembly took place on December 26, 1990 in Kyiv – the capital of Ukraine. As permitted by the legislation in effect at that time, the firm was founded as a consulting enterprise, and was initially comprised of six lawyers.

The development of The SALKOM Law Firm is closely tied with the development of a market economy in Ukraine.  Having become one of the first private law firms to enter the Ukrainian legal market, SALKOM has grown in parallel with the development of independent Ukraine.

The first offices were located in the Khreschatyk Hotel, in central Kyiv.  By 1992, The SALKOM Law Firm had grown to occupy several rooms, so in 1993 the firm opened a larger office in the Khreschatyk Hotel Business Center. The firm’s stuff increased almost from the first, as our firm took on large Ukrainian and foreign companies as clients.  In 1992, the firm created its Scientific and Analytical Center, and in 1993 the firm published the first issue of its “Reference Guide to Current Ukrainian Law and Practice”, and the firm has updated and re-issued the Reference Guide on a regular basis since then.

In 1996, in response to continued growth, the firm purchased offices on the 2nd floor of a historic building located in central Kiev at 12 Khreschatyk Street.  Our client-base continued to grow, thanks to our excellent business reputation.  SALKOM continues to be regarded as one of the leading law firms doing business in Ukraine.  For instance, ever since it began to rate top law firms in Ukraine seven years ago, the legal newspaper “Yuridicheskaya Praktika” (Legal Practice) has only ranked The SALKOM Law Firm in the top ten every year.

In October 2003, the office of SALKOM Law Firm expanded once again, having constructed two more floors at 12 Khreschatyk Street.  In addition, the firm took on several new lawyers in order to perform more complex work, and deliver advice more effectively and efficiently.

Now SALKOM occupies three floors of the building at 12 Khreschatyk Street and employs more than 80 lawyers and support staff.  Among the current clients of the firm are well-known multinational corporations, the biggest Ukrainian and foreign industrial and trading companies, banks, state establishments and public entities.  At the same time SALKOM continues to work with small and medium-sized enterprises.  Each of our clients receives top-quality legal services tailored to that client’s specific business needs.

In the years since SALKOM was founded, our staff and our offices have grown and changed. However, the SALKOM Law Firm's focus on client needs, and our principles of teamwork, professionalism of the lawyers and quality of the services,  strict confidentiality in meeting client needs remained the same.
